Delaney Holness

Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator

In Delaney’s final year at McMaster University, she began her relationship with Lighthouse. She wrote her thesis on grief in the Black community with Candace Ray as her supervisor. She brings to this role a passion for the well-being of the community as well as an affinity for supporting those around her. Holding a B.A. in Health and Society specializing in Mental Health and addiction, she strives to use her academic knowledge in partnership with her previous experience to benefit those she helps. She finds enjoyment in community participation through various roles; such as her role as Student Association Executive Member (HASSA), Mcmaster Student Research Ethics Committee member, Social Science Welcome Week Representative, and most recently as a volunteer for the March of Dimes. As Delaney continues her academic and professional pursuits she is focused on continuing her studies and career in the field of Social Work while maintaining a commitment to fostering a better community for everyone.
