Emily McIntosh

Group Leader

Emily joined the Lighthouse in September of 2014 as a volunteer facilitator in a children’s group, during which time she was completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Since then, Emily has completed her Master of Social Work degree and held the position of Group Leader and Coordinator of Support Services, working with tiny tots, children, tweens, teens, and young adults, as well as providing service navigation and consultations to grieving families and community members. In 2022, Emily stepped away to welcome her daughter into the world and has since returned coordinating a combination of online and in-person groups.  Emily brings her with many years of experience working with children, youth, and families in various settings, including children’s mental health agencies and the school board. In addition to her role at Lighthouse, Emily also provides grief and mental health counselling at her virtual private practice. When Emily is not at Lighthouse, you can find her spending time with her family, cooking up a storm, or reading.
